Quarter Sawn White Oak Floors, Quartersawn Oak Reclaimed
Quarter sawn oak flooring is recognized as some of the most stable, beautiful flooring in the world and is the preferred flooring over radiant heat.
The art of quarter sawing oak, or quartersawn, like many superior practices of the past, has been replaced with plain sawing techniques that are easier, cheaper, and quicker, that produce a lower grade lumber.

Solid quarter sawn oak is a perfect choice for radiant heat flooring, as it has a long successful history of use over radiant heated floors. Radiant floor heating using solid quartersawn oak flooring has always been a good selection for stability, especially when installing floor boards wider than 4 inches. Also longer lengths are available.
Our oak flooring is also created from responsibly harvested forests, old tight growth timber that may contain dead standing trees, often done in many years ago from gypsy moth eating the leaves.
Gustav Stickley, perhaps one of the greatest woodworkers America has ever seen, used quartersawn white oak almost exclusively for his Mission and Arts & Crafts furniture.
Our prices start at $5.95 sq ft.

A very light rustic white oak floor, heavy quartersawn/ some rift is shown with a tung oil finish.
No other wood in the world has the long radiated rays that are needed to create this spectacular rich "fleck" look.
Reclaimed white oak lumber shipped everywhere: small orders welcome
White oak was the wood of choice for building many of the barns, homes and buildings of our early American history. It is a very strong stable wood that resists rot and wear.
The white oak beams and lumber that are reclaimed from these old American structures is dry, old dense, tight grained, and beautiful, with an aged, rich patina and a fleck character that is unmatched in any other wood.
We reclaim and recycled the wood log beams, barn boards, antique flooring and weathered wood siding.
We also supply these materials either as is or as re-sawn lumber for the building trade industry.
